For the past 3 years, Hugh has been a cornerstone of Black Sheep Martial Arts. After joining the team, he reignited his fighting career and became a perfect example of what consistent training, perseverance, and a willingness to learn can accomplish.
Inside the gym, Hugh has grown into an outstanding coach, mentor, and leader. He plays a vital role in helping new students and fighters navigate not only the technical skills of striking and competition, but also the culture, discipline, and mindset that define our team. His patience, experience, and approachable personality make him a trusted resource for athletes at every level.
Outside the gym, Hugh is a devoted husband and father of two who balances family life, training, coaching, and a wide range of interests and hobbies. He demonstrates that martial arts can be a lifelong pursuit that complements a full and meaningful life rather than consuming it.
Whether he’s preparing fighters for competition, helping a beginner through their first class, or simply leading by example, Hugh embodies the values that Black Sheep Martial Arts strives to cultivate. We are proud to have him as a coach, teammate, and friend, and grateful for the positive impact he continues to have on our students and community.
